Artwork in Buaile Exhibition.

"Seordag" was inspired by my Great Aunt Seordag Murray, who taught Gaelic classes in Assynt. She had worked in technology during WW2, so Seordag the cyborg hen with a TV set stomach, hatched from the combination of Gaelic and technology. There is more info on the Seordag origins page with links to picturebooks and animation, published in both English and Gaelic. The "Deadgirls" were inspired from a few sources. The Culag Loch surrounds most of Lochinver Primary School and as a child I imagined that the loch was haunted. A kindly old lady dressed in black would sometimes come along the shore of the loch calling for lost sheep.
